Modbury occurs as village in the South Hams region of Devon in England. A todays people is more or less 1500.

Etymology

A title Modbury occurs as corruption of the Anglo-Saxon name, Moot burh or even "meeting place". This is declarative of its previous significance as a place of short term trading & as well as a judicial centre.

Modbury is recorded in the Domesday Book.

Civil War
It was a places of 2 battles in the English Civil War. the number 1 battle was a minor royalist triumph in December 9 1642, when the little Royalist click put to flight the little Parliamentarian click.
